Personally I think you are taking these quotes out of context and trying to present the idea that Ron Paul is trying proselytize for the Christian church and maybe would even use government to do so.

When in reality he is discussing the idea that the Government is proselytizing for it's religion.

Thankfully you provide sources for these quotes but I fear most people won't read them and form their own opinion and rather will just take yours.

You Promised He Was Different, Not Retarded...

“The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers.”

The most significant case in my neck of the woods in the last decade was the one that caused all the Texas High Schools to stop praying at our football games. God and Football became Moment of Silence and Football. It is extremely important that those who consider themselves to be knowledgeable about such matters realize that this was not caused by an over zealous application of Constitutional law. It was caused by nonchristian-like Christians in a small town getting so comfortable with the uniformity of religious opinion that the very people running the schools began to do unkind things to very young children who believed in Jesus, but just not in the way that most in the town did. The problem then wasn't Leftest Lib on Christian, it was Christian on Christian. A very disheartening turn of events that was repeated to the point that the courts intervened. And if you look at most religious persecution in our country and of course worldwide, doesn't the law usually attempt to protect the believers from the other believers?
