God & State is devoted to the issues concerning religion, and to an extent politics, in today’s society. Every attempt is made at fairness, but there will always be a bias in the direction of atheism. The goal of the site is to create a more open dialog between religions, with fairness towards those of us that are not religious.
In all aspects of today’s society, religion plays some kind of role. The viewpoint from the major religions often silences the dissenting voice of the atheist (or members of smaller religions). This site is one person’s opinion and is not meant to represent all atheists.
If you disagree with what is written, by all means leave a comment. Same if you agree. The best thing that can happen for religion and politics is to have healthy and open debates.
One of the major goals of the site is to seek out and identify hypocrisy in matters of religion and politics. My information on the 2008 Presidential election is meant to help those who view religion as a major issue identify which candidate is best suited to represent them.
Feel free to browse the site, and if you’d like, send a comment or suggestion. If you like what you see, feel free to spread the word to a friend.
I am an atheist who enjoys discussing religion and politics. I was a lifelong Republican, until recently switching to being registered as an Independent. I’m sure liberals will see me as a neo-con, and conservatives will see me as a pinko, but I have faith that like minded, open-minded individuals will understand what I am saying and why I am saying it.
I was educated at Arizona State University where I studied philosophy and broadcasting. I have a strong background in history, and am willing to discuss and debate anything. The only thing I ask of you is to leave personal insults at the door, and instead engage in an open and honest dialogue about the issues written here.
Any website is only as good as it’s readers, so please join in the discussion and send along ideas and comments. Thanks.
